The aim is to bring to light common thematic concerns, narrative devices and techniques between the films, thereby facilitating a dialogue between past and present.
Bodily metaphors, which historically enabled numerous Czech animators to construct meaningful ambivalence and subvert authority within a rigorously controlled context, resonate throughout the contemporary works. Body parts are often objectified in the films – and perhaps point to the increasingly alienating technological environments in which many of us live and work.
